If you are looking for a therapist

Not open yet

Rooted is being built right now, practitioner by practitioner. The directory is not open, and we would rather tell you that plainly than let you search an empty page.

When it opens you will be able to look for someone by province, by language, and by where their people are from. That last one is the reason this exists. You should be able to find someone who already understands the shape of your family, without having to explain it first.

If you need someone this week

Waiting for the right person is a luxury not everyone has, and we will not pretend otherwise. These are free, they answer now, and you do not need a referral.

  • 988, the Suicide Crisis Helpline. Call or text, 24 hours a day, anywhere in Canada, in English and French.
  • Your provincial health line. 811 in most provinces, for advice on what is available near you.
  • Your family doctor or a walk in clinic. They can refer you into publicly funded counselling, which costs nothing.
  • Your employer or school. Many have an assistance plan with several free sessions that nobody ever tells you about.

None of these will be Black. That is the gap. It is why we are building this.

When we open

We will write to you once

One email, on the day the directory opens in your province. Nothing before it, nothing after it, and your address is never sold or shared. That email will carry a link straight to the practitioners open in your province, already filtered by the language and background you told us mattered to you: no separate search, no second sign-up, no account to create first.

Practitioners can put their names down here.

Be told first

Tell me when the directory opens

Three questions. One email, once.

We write once, on the day the directory opens where you are. Your address is never sold or shared, and one click takes you off the list.
